JEFF COUGHLIN isn’t flashy — he’s a roll-up-your-sleeves problem solver. Yes, he’s an astrophysicist and a former NASA director who helped lead the Kepler mission that discovered thousands of planets. That’s big-league science. But here at home, he keeps it grounded: he volunteers as Executive Director of the Kitsap History Museum in downtown Bremerton, running a small local operation, making payroll, and building community.
On City Council — and as Council President — Jeff focused on what working families ask for: safer streets, housing you can actually afford, real help for homelessness, and a local economy that supports small businesses and good jobs. Plans are great; delivering results matters. As mayor, Jeff will cut red tape, listen first, and work side by side with neighbors, unions, and small businesses to get results — with action, collaboration, and transparency — not excuses or drama.
Jeff and his husband, Nick — a longtime shipyard worker — are raising their 4-year-old here in Bremerton. He’s in this to make it easier for families to afford to live here, feel safe here, and get ahead here.
Jeff Coughlin shows up for Bremerton — neighbor, problem solver, and hands-on public servant. As a City Council leader and former Planning Commissioner, he listens first and gets things done. His focus is simple: safer streets, housing people can afford, smart growth that respects our neighborhoods, and a local economy where small businesses can actually open their doors. Jeff knows the cost of living is squeezing families, and dealing with City Hall shouldn’t feel like a second job — so as mayor he’ll cut red tape, fix basic services, and make government work for working people.
